Flipboard Launches Market

The iPad Rocks As a Dinner Presentation Tool

I was just at a 20 Group meeting in West Virginia and the night prior to my presentation I was invited to join the dealer principals and their wives for dinner. There are 5 tables of eight and I sat down to share a meal with one table and of course I had my iPad.

During the conversations, one dealer asked a question about digital marketing in his locale. I turned on my iPad and first got a glimpse of his marketing area on Google Maps. Then we sat side by side and conducted a few key searches on Google and I was able to diagnose his issues.

Once that started, everyone at the table started asking questions. It was just amazing how convenient the iPad was at a dinner table to assist these dealers with their questions. No bulky laptop taking up a place at the dinner table! I passed the iPad across the table to show other dealers their search results and the iPad facilitated even more questions.

After the meal more dealers came up to me to ask questions. Standing side by side we were able to view search results pertaining to their dealership. It was powerful to see how this tool can enhance conversation, communication and to get meaningful answers fast.

I've made a mental note of that evening and you'll be seeing me with my iPad at business dinners more often. If you are in sales and don't have an iPad, you are missing some great opportunity to serve others.
